Westbrook Community Fund grants awarded

A total of 19 local groups shared grants totalling $18,500 from the Dennis Family Corporation at the inaugural Westbrook Community Fund presentation on 27th November.

Eligibility for funding extended to not-for-profit groups operating in the Truganina, Tarneit, Hoppers Crossing and Williams Landing postcode areas, with applications having been assessed by an independent judging panel.

Speaking at the presentation function held at the Westbrook Land Sales Office, Dennis Family Group Managing Director, Grant Dennis said the Community Fund initiative had made an immediate impact in its first year of operation at the Westbrook estate.

“The annual Community Fund concept was introduced within our family business back in 2002 as a practical way of giving back to the communities we create,” he explained.

“We are delighted with the response received in this first year at Westbrook and encourage as many eligible groups as possible to make an application in 2019. It was very rewarding to be able to listen to the inaugural recipients tell us how they would be putting their grant funding to use on so many wonderful projects in the local community.”

Since first establishing its Community Fund initiative sixteen years ago, the Dennis Family Corporation has now distributed more than $600,000 in grants across various residential estates in Victoria and South East Queensland.

“The commencement this year of the Westbrook Community Fund has enabled us to add a further $18,500 to that tally and extend the reach of our support into the local neighbourhoods where our Westbrook development is located,” Mr. Dennis added.
