FACES OF WESTBROOK MEET GRACE SCALZO, WESTBROOK PROJECT MANAGER - NORTHEAST PRECINCT

February 2023 in Meet Your Neighbours

Currently living in Kensington with her partner, Grace Scalzo, is the newest recruit to Westbrook’s Project Management Team.

We chat to Grace to find out a little more about her role and what she thinks makes Westbrook special.

Tell us about your role and what this entails?

“As Project Manager, I look after pretty much every aspect of the estate’s Northern Precinct. I oversee the delivery of each stage and all the infrastructure projects within the precinct including preparation of development programs, coordination of infrastructure design and approvals, revision of design and plans for the subdivision and delivery of the overall project to ensure the development progresses on schedule.”

What is the best thing about your role?

“On the positive side of the ledger, I’m loving the opportunity to broadening my skill set across all facets of land subdivision, working with a great collaborative team to achieve high level results. I’ve only been in this role a short time, my experience has been brilliant, but I have a lot to learn which can sometimes be a little overwhelming!”

What’s so special about Westbrook?

“Well, there aren’t too many master planned communities of this size in the development space. Most land developments in Melbourne’s west tend to be quite small, which often means they can only provide limited access to the level of amenity that a large-scale master planned estate can. By contrast, Westbrook offers a range of amenity that smaller developments simply can’t match including the recently announced future secondary government school within the heart of the estate, a childcare centre, plenty of indoor and outdoor sports facilities, extensive parklands and open space, as well as a community centre and a large Town Centre near the estate’s very own railway station – the Tarneit Train Station.”

Who will Westbrook most appeal to?

“Westbrook has always appealed to wide demographic of purchasers. But this is especially true of families looking to get into the housing market who really value a residential community that’s well designed, in a great location, with lots established and proposed amenities, with a strong community orientation.”

Finally, what are your 3 favourite things to do in and around Westbrook?

“While I’m yet to fully explore Tarneit and Truganina, I’ve already discovered so many fantastic things to do in and around the City of Wyndham. Some of my favourites places so far are the Victoria State Rose Garden and  Werribee Open Range Zoo, both at Werribee Park; shopping at Werribee Plaza (not always good for my bank balance but great fun); and all the fantastic cafes – Degani’s Bakery & Café at the Tarneit Central Shopping Centre does sensational coffee!”
