February 2023 in Events & Local Area

PLANNING A PICNIC? HERE ARE 3 PERFECT PICNIC SPOTS IN THE LOCAL AREA

Who doesn't love a picnic? Eating delicious food outside and enjoying the sunshine while being surrounded by nature is a great Aussie tradition and definitely brings a smile to most people's faces. Plus it's also a great way to catch up with family and friends.

So where can you roll out the picnic rug close to home? Here are our top suggestions.

Westbrook Estate Central Park Playground. If you're looking for somewhere right on your doorstep, the estate's Central Park Playground is super convenient and just a short walk away. There's a huge shelter which makes it suitable for all weathers and lots of fun activities for the kids including rope climbing frame, small metal slide, area of soft mounds, swings and suspended rope traverse. Plenty to keep the kids entertained for a couple of hours!

Riverbend Historical Park, Werribee. Nestled along the banks of the Werribee River, Riverbend Historical Park is great for a family picnic or a leisurely stroll or bike ride. Perfect for the whole family, the reserve has loads of BBQs, ample sheltered areas and plenty of open space for the kids to run around and play. Also, fun fact, some trees at the reserve were planted as far back as the late 1800s!

Werribee Park Mansion. If you're looking for something a little more romantic, why not roll out the picnic blanket and treat yourself to a delicious cheeseboard against the stunning backdrop of the Victoria State Rose Garden - the perfect way to win over your loved one's heart.
