Now that many of us are working from home regularly, it's becoming harder to establish boundaries. However, it's more important than ever that we learn to switch off from work... and this is the hard part!
Here are some tips to help you achieve the ultimate work / life balance.
A FIXED SCHEDULE.
A fixed schedule will clearly identify work time from personal time. Sticking to regular office hours while working from home will really help to make sure you have a few hours to relax and unwind at the end of the day.
YOUR WORK SPACE.
Physically stepping away from your work space is a great way to switch from work mode to home mode. This is way easier to do when you have a defined work room or space - or, if space is tight, simply put your laptop out of sight for the night.
TURN OFF NOTIFICATIONS.
There are so many ways we can be contacted. But by switching off or pausing work related apps this will help your brain turn off too.
CHANGE YOUR CLOTHES.
A great way to signal to yourself that you are done for work for the day. Time to pop on the pyjamas!
DO SOME EXERCISE.
When you are finished for the day, it's a great time to get outside and get active. A great way to clear the mind! It can be a as simple as taking a 30min walk around the neighbourhood.
