Diwali lights up Westbrook’s Central Park.
On Friday, 3 November over 2,300 people headed on down to Westbrook’s Central Park for the annual Diwali Festival of Lights.
Featuring non-stop family entertainment right across the evening from Indian music and Bollywood dancing to authentic Indian street food, this fabulous free event was the perfect opportunity for all Westbrook residents, families and friends to celebrate the very best of Indian culture.
Highlights included an energetic DJ who got everyone up and dancing, an Indian Dhol drummer, a -body-defying contortionist and the remarkably realistic looking Eesha the Elephant – a huge crowd-pleaser, plus a host of other great drawcards from the Bubble Man to an intricate sand art display. People also tucked into plenty of delicious food on offer at the highly popular on-site Indian dessert food truck and the Wyndham Rotary Barbeque!
But the highlight of the event was undoubtedly Pyrotechnic show – which provided the perfect finale to a highly successful, sensational evening under the stars!
