It’s time to smell the roses at the annual State Rose & Garden Show.

November 2023 in Events & Local Area

Whether you’re a green thumb or gardening novice, there’s something for everyone to enjoy when the annual State Rose & Garden Show returns to Werribee Park next weekend. Celebrating its 9th year in 2023, this fabulous 2-day celebration of all things floral takes place on 11 and 12 November at Werribee Park, with its manicured lawns playing host to gardening exhibits, plant stalls, free guided tours, workshops, live music and a sea of more than 5,000 roses!

An impressive line-up of horticulturists and garden experts has been confirmed, including Chloe Thomson, Vasili Kanidiadis, AB Bishop, and Craig Castree on hand to provide advice on a range of topics from sustainable gardening to fermenting practices. So you can learn all about how to make the most of your garden, no matter how big or small.

Other highlights include a sea of wooden poppies, which attendees can paint, displayed on the lawn to commemorate Remembrance Day. Plus, there’ll be a series of free, hands-on workshops covering everything from terrariums and flower crowns to beekeeping and pot painting. There’s even a special program for the kids – the Little Sprouts Growing and Nature Play will keep the little ones more than entertained.

And you won’t go hungry or thirsty, either, with a range of sweet and savoury options available including rose flavoured scones from the CWA and rose flavoured ice from Timboon Fine Ice Cream, as well as sparkling wine from The Prosecco Van. Enjoy your treats while you relax lush lawns listening to acoustic live music.

Presented by Wyndham City Council, the Show is free for all ages, but you’re encouraged to make a gold coin donation to assist the Victorian State Rose Garden supporters with the upkeep of the garden.
