Love Local Meet Nick Ladbrooke
Let's meet local Westbrook resident, Nick Ladbrooke.
An operations manager working in supply logistics, Nick and his family moved into their ‘forever home’ on Latitude Promenade right opposite Central Park in August 2019.
We ask Nick what he loves most about living at Westbrook.
What made you choose Westbrook?
We always liked the look of the Westbrook Estate whenever we drove past, although at the time it seemed a long way away from where we were living. But as we found ourselves spending more and more time there, we decided we might as well buy and were lucky enough to secure a block right by the Park. Kismet!
What is the best thing about living at Westbrook?
There are so many things to like about Westbrook – especially if you’re brining up a growing family. The estate’s great community, family feel is seriously hard to beat. Plus, we love all the fantastic open spaces and parklands which are brilliant for the kids.
What are your favourite things see and do nearby?
Again it’s hard to know where to start here! We love exploring all parks and playgrounds in the nearby areas – and there’s plenty of them! We also like just being able to get outside and walk or ride the scooters whenever we want. It’s makes it very easy to encourage the kids do a digital detox and spend time in some fresh air outdoors!
Favourite places to eat nearby?
We’ve had a lot of fun checking out the area’s many cafés over the past 3 years. Werribee boasts some really nice places now, especially in Watton Street in the town centre. Another family favourite is Jock + Mack in Hoppers Crossing which pumps out seriously good fresh homemade food and cakes – and the coffee is great!
Best Westbrook insider tip known only to locals?
We originally it was going to be a little tricky getting into the CBD, or accessing the freeway from Westbrook. But we soon realised that the estate is located in the perfect spot. It’s literally only 20 minutes into the city by train. There’s also great access to all the major freeways and arterial roads, so driving to the city or the airport only takes 30mins. Plus, multiple roads to use means never getting stuck in traffic!
