Our guide to indoor plants

October 2022 in Design Inspiration

We all love a little greenery around the home. Here’s our line-up of the best indoor plants that look great, are resilient and don't require much maintenance!

Moth Orchid (Phalaenopsis).

Keep blooms coming by pruning when flowers drop and no more buds are visible. Snip stems, re-pot in orchid mix and feed with orchid food once a year. Prefers moderate light, but not direct sunlight, and an occasional spritz of water once a week.

Jade Plant (Crassula Ovata).

Long-lasting, with bright green glossy leaves. Prefers a well-ventilated spot. Tough enough to withstand lots of natural sunlight, or a darker spot, even artificial light, and is content to stay in the same pot and soil for years. Hates getting cold and unnecessary watering. Water only when thoroughly dry and keep barely moist in winter.

Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadenis).

Nature’s living first aid kit, keep one in the kitchen for burns and scrapes. Just snap off a small length of leaf and squeeze gel onto the wound. Prefers sandy soil. Allow soil to dry between deep waterings and repot only when roots appear from the bottom of the pot. Hates harsh light and high humidity.
