When it comes to culture and taste, the answer is Yes Yes!

October 2020 in Meet Your Neighbours

Local business is at the heart of every community and we are incredibly fortunate to have so many great businesses, services and organisations at Westbrook!

Now, more than ever, we need to support our local enterprises, so each month we are going to profile one of the terrific ventures operating in our neighbourhood.

This month, we shine a light on Yes Yes Indian Grocery and talk to owner, Smitha…

When did Yes Yes Indian Grocery open in Tarneit Central and why did you choose this area to open your business?

We opened in November 2017. The catchment area looked great for an Indian grocery store and to provide a wide variety of commodities at the lowest possible cost.

Number of employees?

24 employees in total, with 15 at Tarneit Central.

How have COVID-19 restrictions changed the way you operate?

As we fall under the essential services category, we have not been affected much apart from social distancing, keeping staff and community safe, reduced trading hours and following all the government regulations.

Even at the time of panic buying we had enough stock to serve the communities. We are a bulk buyer and we always have stock in our hand even when other grocers ran out.
